About The Position

Yanfeng is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. This role involves maintaining quality systems in accordance with YF iOS standards, facilitating problem-solving, and responding to customer discrepancies. The Quality Engineer will also participate in internal and external quality audits, establish process controls, and assist in training for new projects and equipment buy-offs. Additional responsibilities include participating in workgroups like FMEA and PSMC, supporting risk and failure analysis, and supporting quality/dimensional control systems. The role requires a strong working knowledge of APQP tools.

Requirements

  • 1-3 Years of Experience working in the field of Quality, Engineering CI or similar (recent college graduate is considered acceptable).
  • Less Than 1 Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment, establishing partnerships both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess knowledge on the fundamentals of PPAP and APQP processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers, particularly automotive related is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the Quality function such as customer service, metrology, and quality analysis techniques (i.e., Design of experiments, Red X, PPAP, Control Plan, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Update/maintain the Control Plan for the assigned workflows.
  • Serve as the primary contact source with customer/supplier representatives, maintaining positive communication and relationships.
  • Support and attend meetings, reviews, and audits.
  • Ensure that the quality system is maintained in accordance with the YF iOS standards.
  • Facilitate problem-solving teams and respond to customer discrepancy notices.
  • Verify corrective actions and prepare problem-solving customer correspondence related to quality concerns or issues.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, and report to management on quality issues, trends, and losses.
  • Establish process controls, assist in training of new projects, and buy-off on new/modified equipment and processes.
  • Participate in workgroups (e.g., FMEA, PSMC, etc.).
  • Support the risk and failure analysis (PFMEA) reviews.
  • Perform root cause analysis of technical quality problems, with support of a cross-functional team.
  • Support quality/dimensional control systems (i.e., X&R charts, gage studies, Six Sigma, dimensional capability studies).
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Quality requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Work additional hours and/or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
  • Multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers, and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
