About The Position

Our mission is simple: better volunteerism, stronger communities. Better Impact provides software that helps nonprofits, government agencies, healthcare organizations, and companies recruit, schedule, communicate with, and track volunteers and their impact. Today, our products support more than 85,000 organizations, millions of volunteers, and over 600 million volunteer hours across the nonprofit, public, healthcare, and corporate sectors. Our vision is a world where volunteerism is recognized, resourced, and respected in every community. We are a growing, private-equity-backed business focused on meaningful work.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in software quality with significant depth in test automation.
  • Experience building systems and architecting automated suites.
  • Experience building or substantially rebuilding a quality function, ideally across more than one stack or product.
  • Fluency in modern automation and comfort with differing technology stacks (.NET, PHP, Node and TypeScript).
  • Ability to reason about quality across different systems and design a generalized approach.
  • Experience treating AI and agentic tooling as a force multiplier for cross-stack quality.
  • Experience protecting a product through a major migration, re-platform, or rewrite where regression was a central risk.
  • Understanding of multi-region SaaS product uptime and SLA obligations and building quality processes with that in mind.

Nice To Haves

  • Government, healthcare, or compliance experience.

  • Build the automation layer, including API and end-to-end test coverage, integrated into each platform's delivery pipeline, with agentic and AI-driven tooling.
  • Define and own the quality gates across all products, ensuring no ticket exits development without a clear testing designation and nothing ships to production without documented evidence of passed tests on an environment that mirrors production.
  • Own regression protection through various legacy technology modernization efforts, building a safety net to allow aggressive re-platforming without breaking customer-facing behavior.
  • Embed quality into each development team's delivery cycle by partnering with engineering leadership and product owners.
