About The Position

This Quality Engineer (QE) will report to the Quality & Mission Success manager for F-35 EMAS at the Fort Worth, TX manufacturing facility. The QE will be expected to regularly review manufacturing defects for root cause and corrective action, partner with Production Operations to mitigate scrap, rework and repair generated during standard manufacturing processes, develop inspection methods as needed, and perform various analyses of quality-related data. The QE is expected to spend time on the production floor to establish process familiarity, build relationships with Production personnel, and grow their quality science understanding. Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or business discipline
  • 1+ years related experience
  • Experience reviewing customer escapes

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on inspection experience in a manufacturing environment; ability to use various precision measurement instruments
  • Demonstrated experience using quality science tools to solve manufacturing problems
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt

Responsibilities
