About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for achieving manufacturing process quality targets during launch and serial production. This role involves stopping processes and escalating non-conformities to quality (STOP-AT-DEFECT). The Quality Engineer will drive and implement continuous improvement activities affecting process quality by collaborating with other departments. They will create and maintain plant-related quality documentation in the internal Quality document management system and alert management to any items affecting product quality/functionality that do not meet requirements. This position serves as a point of contact for customers for assigned lines/programs and may require travel to customer locations. The Quality Engineer will provide quick responses to customers or Quality Resident Engineers (QREs) at customer locations for clarifications, sorting information, and other support. Ensuring knowledge and understanding of all customer-specific requirements, risk management, and product safety is crucial. The role involves leading (8D) problem-solving methods for internal/external quality concerns, including warranty issues, and reviewing customer scorecards daily, escalating and following up on concerns or point reductions and warranty issues. The Quality Engineer will track and complete all PPAP required documentation and data to customers on time, support project-related documents (e.g., P-FMEA, process flow chart), and perform internal audits, completing assigned action plans on time. They will also support the Quality Manager on external and customer audits and ensure ongoing line conformity for all inspection requirements as per the control plan. The role requires the ability to work with digitalized formats for multiple quality processes and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with openness to learning other Microsoft applications. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will perform SPC analysis and support Gage RR using Minitab.
