About The Position

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain a plant-wide quality system that meets customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements. This role involves supporting and maintaining compliance with ISO and customer-specific quality standards, managing quality documentation, and leading quality audits. The Quality Engineer will partner with Process Engineering and Production to ensure robust plastic injection molding processes, review and approve quality-related documents, and monitor statistical process control data. A key responsibility is leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues, analyzing trends, and responding to customer corrective actions. This position also serves as the quality point of contact for customer concerns, supports PPAP/FAI submissions, and collaborates with suppliers. The role champions continuous improvement, analyzes quality metrics, coaches team members, and promotes a culture of customer focus and accountability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Plastic Injection Molding experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and defect analysis.
Experience with SPC, Cp/Cpk, control charts, and measurement systems analysis (MSA).
Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
Working knowledge of quality standards and audit processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset.

Nice To Haves

Plastic Injection Molding experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain a plant-wide quality system that meets customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements.
Support and maintain compliance with ISO and customer-specific quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF, AS9100 as applicable).
Maintain control of quality documentation, inspection standards, and work instructions.
Lead and support internal and external quality audits, including customer audits.
Partner with Process Engineering and Production to ensure robust, capable plastic injection molding processes.
Review and approve control plans, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, setup sheets, and first article inspections.
Support mold trials, process qualifications, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ as applicable).
Monitor statistical process control (SPC) data and process capability (Cp/Cpk) to drive continuous improvement.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer quality issues.
Analyze scrap, rework, customer complaints, and nonconforming material trends.
Prepare and respond to customer corrective actions (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.).
Drive sustainable corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
Serve as the quality point of contact for customer quality concerns and new product launches.
Support customer PPAP/FAI submissions and ongoing quality requirements.
Collaborate with suppliers on quality issues related to raw materials, components, or outsourced processes.
Champion continuous improvement methodologies across the manufacturing operation.
Analyze quality performance metrics and support plant quality goals.
Coach and support production, quality technicians, and inspectors in quality best practices.
Promote a culture of customer focus and accountability throughout the organization.
