About The Position

The Quality Engineer plays a key role in executing RMS's quality strategy across projects, manufacturing operations, and supply chain activities. This position is responsible for driving quality performance through risk identification and mitigation, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, supplier quality management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements while supporting the delivery of high-quality products and services. Responsibilities include leading quality investigations, facilitating problem-solving efforts, supporting product and process verification activities, analyzing quality metrics, and implementing sustainable improvements that enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented engineering professional with strong analytical and communication skills, a solid understanding of quality systems and methodologies, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.   • Proven experience leading root cause and corrective action investigations.
  • Ability to act professionally under stressful situations.
  • Able to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.(with assistance), walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance.
  • Must be able to use hands for assembling and tool usage.
  • While performing the duties of this position the employee will be required to stand, sit, bend, and walk for significant portions of the shift.
  • Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals, including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Power BI or SQL experience a plus.
  • Welding, NDT, and applicable industry codes preferred.
  • Experience with turbomachinery, rotating equipment or complex assemblies highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the quality lead on assigned customer projects, ensuring compliance to technical, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring clarity of control points and alignment to internal and external expectations.
  • Develop and manage Quality Plans, Quality Control Plans, and documentation required for contract deliverables.
  • Oversee resolution of nonconformances using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.), focusing on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate supplier performance, conduct root cause reviews, and implement risk-based quality strategies.
  • Perform QC verification activities for direct materials delivered to the Pearland Works facility.
  • Liaise with external calibration partners to support on-site and external calibration of measurement and test equipment.
  • Support and lead internal audits, customer audits, and third-party audits under ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable standards.
  • Monitor quality metrics across jobs and suppliers; develop reports and lead reviews to highlight trends and drive improvement.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior engineers or inspection personnel as needed.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional initiatives in areas such as special process validation or QMS enhancements.
