Quality Engineer
About The Position
Johnson Controls is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their Stack Forging Thermal Solutions team. This role involves participating in all aspects of creating and operating a Quality Management system capable of processing volume orders from customers. The Quality Engineer will work with all departments to maintain ISO 9001 certification, focusing on effective inspection processes, timely processing of rejected material, maintaining good supplier relationships, and onboarding/training new quality technicians. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a proactive problem-solving approach, and familiarity with Quality tools and methods. This role generally requires 4 days onsite per week.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating a manufacturing quality system
- Experience with part prints, tolerancing
- Experience with inspection tools, hand held (micrometers, calipers) and more advanced (comparators, CMM, vision systems)
- Ability to write clear instructions and follow instructions
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, Word documents and basic statistics
- BS in technical field or engineering preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and document standard procedures
- Create and execute inspection plans, gather other data as needed
- Assist with root cause analysis of issues, follow up on corrective actions
- Maintain Quality records and prepare customer documentation
- Assist with calibration
- Other quality tasks as needed or assigned
- Responsibilities are subject to change based on shifting business needs
