About The Position

Curries, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is building out its Engineering Team and is adding a Quality Engineer role to be based on-site at its Mason City, Iowa facility. This role will play an integral part on the Engineering Team by identifying root cause and implementing corrective action activities. The Quality Engineer will support continuous improvement initiatives and possess the ability to present findings and results to customers and senior management. The company is growing and emphasizes creating a safer and more open world through its innovations in access solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a quality production environment.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) on Quality systems; gage and inspection systems with defined CARS and remediation to drive performance improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop effective teams without extensive oversight.
  • Possess excellent collaborative, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to multi-task and handle tasks or projects with competing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green certification preferred.
  • ASQ CQE Certification a plus.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal or other quality management systems preferred.
  • Implementation, supporting and or improving Quality Management System (QMS) preferred.
  • Understand and developed systems to support ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and sustain elements of the QMS (Quality Management System), including corrective actions, supplier quality management, customer complaints, change control, audit processes, standard procedures, test methods, and processes.
  • Deploy Process Controls throughout the operating system, teaming with operations to improve COPQ performance and conduct training to achieve goals.
  • Conduct formal root-cause analysis and corrective actions to understand and eliminate defective products.
  • Help develop process controls to reduce process variation to target control limits.
  • Routinely update SOP’s, operator work instructions, and training materials to reflect continuous improvement to quality.
  • Monitor, control, and analyze product and process quality to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with production in detecting root causes for defects during production phases.
  • Work with Quality Manager in analyzing data for the purpose of developing and implementing preventative measures to limit or eliminate quality defects.
  • Facilitate Lean Six Sigma process improvement opportunities throughout the plant and be an ambassador for quality and process excellence.
  • Be responsible for site RMA/RFC process to include evaluation, processing, corrective actions, and disposition, in concert with Warranty Claims Manager.
  • Assure compliance with state, federal, local, and corporate governance policies, regulations, and laws, AADG programs and policies, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.
