About The Position

The Quality Engineer plans and conducts activities related to quality control and quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products. The role works with customers to ensure timely submission and approval of flow-down requirements and serves as first-line quality engineering support for key customers. The position supports quality investigations involving customer and vendor escapes and promotes problem-solving practices and defect prevention. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
Aerospace manufacturing knowledge, including machines, processes, specifications, and materials.
Skills in data analysis, blueprint ballooning and interpretation, and creating Inspection Method Sheets (IMS).
Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis, statistical process control, root cause and corrective action, DICE, and 8D.
Experience with nonconforming material evaluation, internal audits, process certification, PFMEA, and process mapping.
Ability to interpret and apply specifications and flow down customer requirements to suppliers.
Knowledge of calibration, inspection methods, and material testing and microstructure/microhardness.
Experience developing, reviewing, and submitting Process Approval Processes, including FAIR and PPAP.
Ability to develop process specifications and write procedures.
AS13000 training.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds; close vision is required.
Frequently sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; occasionally stand, walk, and talk or hear.

Nice To Haves

College degree.
Experience with LCS and MCL requirements.
Familiarity with document control and the listed programs and systems: DISCUS, Inspection Expert, Minitab, Net Inspect, Solumina, GE Score, GE ECAV, GE SPS, and Digital Desktop.

Responsibilities

Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data and evaluate process capability.
Review purchased products or components and provide input on product acceptance and future vendor purchases.
Document data obtained during quality activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Provide first-line quality engineering support for key customers.
Support quality investigations, including customer and vendor escapes.
Promote problem-solving practices and use advanced quality tools, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA, to establish risk-mitigation strategies and prevent defects.
Work with customers to ensure timely submission and approval of flow-down requirements.
