Requirements

  • Post secondary education in a quality related discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a quality related function
  • Good knowledge of fundamentals, principles and management of quality functions within the scope of Schaeffler.
  • Good planning, organizational and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and other quality assurance techniques
  • Must have experience in quality related auditing processes
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, shipping/ receiving software and internally developed Quality Assurance software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and conduct first article inspections (FAIR).
  • Candidate must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check and be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Exemptions to the Canadian government to grant temporary residents/international students access to their export controlled goods is required and takes a minimum of 2 months from offer acceptance for processing. This may delay start dates for candidates on temporary work permits.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to communicate fluently in German (both in written and verbal) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality focused scrap reduction projects in conjunction with the production team
  • Support production efforts to conform to customer and industry requirements
  • Conduct monthly scrap review meetings with production leaders on the scrap summary charts and generate actions to meet KPI (Key Process Indicators)
  • Conduct RCCA (Root cause and corrective action) meetings related to bearing manufacturing, special processing and assembly
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the plant using 6 Sigma, Lean, and Red X methodologies
  • Support customer, industry, and internal audits and lead corrective actions which arise from findings
  • Support daily MRB (material review board) meetings and advise on disposition when necessary
  • Create process plans as needed to support rework of non-conforming product
  • Support general problem-solving activities within the plant
