The Company: Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PacAero) is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team! PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface. The Position: Job Summary Performs the responsibilities below to ensure customer satisfaction and activities related to continual improvement of the Quality Management System.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 3 years of quality related experience.
  • Works with hazardous chemicals.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a requirement for safety.
  • Must be flexible to work the following shifts: Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm
  • Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary for manipulating tools and performing precise measurements with a Microscope.
  • Specific vision ability to have natural or corrected near distance acuity in at least one eye.
  • Capable of passing the Jaeger Number 2 test and a color vision test.
  • Due to ITAR Requirements, all PacAero employees must be classified as US Persons and are required to show proof upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Management Systems (QMS) maintenance.
  • Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the QMS.
  • Continual improvement activities to enhance the QMS.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation (Quality Manual, QPs, AWPs, SOPs, etc.)
  • Continuously improve all QC inspection processes and procedures.
  • Planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspection functions. This also includes product qualification testing.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness throughout the company.
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
  • Assist Purchasing and Quality Manager in managing supplier’s performance.
  • Field customer calls and emails regarding quality issues and complaints.
  • Preparations and review of completed QC documents and reports, Inspection reports, AS9102 first article reports, Key Characteristic data reports, etc.
  • Interface with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure transfer of new products to Production is in accordance with internal and customer requirements.
  • Assist Engineering in analyzing failures, corrective and preventive actions to respond to customer complaints.
  • Accompany customers during audits and or visits as necessary.
  • Ensure timely response to customer audit findings and customer corrective action requests for noncompliant product or other issues.
  • Schedule and coordinate customer source inspection activities.
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the QMS.
  • Conduct internal and process audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
  • Review and approve disposition of NCRs as QC representative of MRB.
  • Review and approve production order routings (BOM, revisions, inspection operations, inspection reports, etc.)
  • Review quotes and customer contracts ensuring that all quality requirements are identified and special requirements are noted (including and identifying risks and taking exception to requirements that cannot be verified).
  • Review and approve RFPCs (request for planning changes).
  • Complete and submit customer waiver requests for noncompliant products as required.
  • Assist Engineering with submitting customer drawing/specification change requests.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperative effort
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area
  • Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes
