The Quality Engineer will interpret Design Engineering data, including blueprints, Bills of Material, and Specs, along with customer requirements. This role involves defining ITP/quality plans for manufacturing, sourcing, and customer contracts. The engineer will research and document quality improvements, cost-effective methods, and process improvements. A key responsibility is providing daily technical support through the disposition of Quality Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and solving shop floor problems, with a primary focus on identifying root causes and correcting processes. This includes implementing corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer-related issues. The role also involves developing procedures, work instructions, and forms to comply with the quality system, and undertaking special project assignments related to productivity and quality improvements. The Quality Engineer will support engineering and quality managers with customer interfaces on quality-related matters and facilitate cross-functional failure mode root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions. Analysis of reports and returned products, along with training on new procedures and maintaining quality records, are also part of the duties. The engineer will generate contract data packages and statistically track non-conformance in specific process areas. A critical function includes the detailed review and approval of engineering drawings (fabrication, GA) and documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability before release. Additionally, the role requires thorough verification of pressure vessel calculations and design packages for compliance with applicable ASME codes, and ensuring all designs, drawings, and documentation adhere to customer specifications, project requirements, and contractual obligations.
