About The Position

The Quality Engineer position works directly with the Quality Manager to support the advancement of our quality programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of automotive industry experience in a quality related role
• CMM, Tensile Tester, Calipers, etc. experience required
• Experience with TS16949/ISO 14001 preferred
• Knowledge of General OSHA Standards
• Ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to facilitate a team and work independently if needed

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production procedures and processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
• Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented, including conducting internal and external audits as needed
• Establish safety processes, requirements and culture
• Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology (destructive/non-destructive), quality plans, documents and reports
• Serve as the primary quality resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement (both internal and external)
• Support the TS16949 certification process and maintaining Quality System
• Develop, execute, and analyze quality-reporting measures.
• Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses
• Manage supplier performance and conduct audits
• Support Quality Management in APQP (PFMEA and control plan development, MSA testing, and PPAP submission)
• Supervise and train quality and production staff on both Quality and Safety requirements
• Responsible and has authority to take action to ensure that the Quality of the product meets or exceeds the customer's expectations
• Proxy for Quality Manager as needed
• Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager
