Experienced Quality Engineer
About The Position
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in St. Charles, MO. This role represents the Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. The Quality Engineer provides quality interpretation of requirements, develops quality metrics, and designs and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. They also conduct capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities, participate in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs, and perform analysis, tests, and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Additionally, the role involves providing material review dispositions for non-conformances, analyzing non-conformance trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions, recommending corrective actions to address non-conformances, and performing benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. The position works under general direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 3+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
- 3+ years of experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings
- 3+ years of experience do you have working with and understanding detailed engineering requirements
- 1+ years of experience do you have in Quality / AS9100 / Aerospace Quality Processes (e.g. AS9102 FAI, AS9146 APQP, AS9146 FOD, ACSI/FCT/FC/DC processes)?
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
- 1+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation
- 3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
- Ability to work with a cross functional team environment including peers, leadership, and customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
