About The Position

As a Quality Engineer in a customer-facing role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet both internal and external quality standards, while also acting as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to product quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve quality processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing quality engineering, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer-facing roles, managing customer relationships, and resolving product quality issues.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar certifications.
  • Proficient in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product lifecycle management is a plus.
  • Experience with customer-specific quality management systems and standards preferred.
  • Proficiency in quality management software (e.g., SAP, Minitab, etc.) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 36 months general quality or manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 24-months specific experience in precision metals fabrication and machining.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced mathematics skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or similar credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers regarding quality concerns, providing timely and effective communication.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and audits as necessary to resolve quality issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any quality-related issues raised by customers.
  • Develop and execute quality assurance strategies to ensure product compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Monitor and track customer complaints and non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensuring effective follow-up and resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (production, engineering, and R&D) to drive continuous improvement and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Review and approve First Article Inspections (FAI), inspection plans, and process validations to ensure product quality before production starts.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of quality metrics and performance in compliance with internal systems and customer requirements.
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs for both internal and external stakeholders, as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations to drive innovation in quality management practices.
