About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Mid-level, Senior or Lead) to join our team located in Hazelwood, MO! This position represents the Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. It provides Quality interpretation of requirements, develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. The role also conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities, participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs, and performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Additionally, the Quality Engineer provides material review dispositions for non-conformances, analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions, and recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances. They also perform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. The position works under general direction for Level 3, minimal direction for Level 4, and consultative direction for Level 5. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
3+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing
3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
3+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
4+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
4+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing
4+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
4+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
5+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
5+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing

Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
Develops and implements corrective actions.
Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
Advises others in the preparation of significant bids and proposals.
Authors Quality plans for major programs.
Advises suppliers and business partners in the development of their Quality plans to ensure the flowdown of requirements.
Consults at the business unit level to develop Quality criteria for supplier selection.
Oversees the development of methods, procedures and metrics to ensure quality standards and practices for large programs and derivatives.
Leads verification reviews to ensure adequate surveillance to validate product and process Quality requirements.
Develops new methods for conducting product and process validation.
Represents Quality in design reviews of the inter-relationship of multiple systems.
Advises on development of methods for testing and approval of products, processes, equipment and measurement systems to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
Performs benchmarking of enterprise best practices. Leads cross-functional continuous Quality improvement efforts.
Develops new applications for advanced statistical methods.
