About The Position

The Quality Engineer leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System (QMS) while owning key Supplier Quality activities. The role establishes the processes, documentation, audit cadence, and performance metrics needed for certification readiness and sustained compliance. It partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure products and purchased components meet requirements and to drive corrective actions and risk-based improvements across the business.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing an ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management System, ideally through certification or leading major QMS buildout or gap-closure efforts.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, including risk-based thinking, documented information, internal audits, management review, corrective action, and continual improvement.
  • Internal Auditor training.
  • Strong skills in document control, process mapping, procedure and work-instruction development, and cross-functional training and rollout.
  • Proven corrective action leadership using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D/A3, 5-Why, and Fishbone, including verification of effectiveness.
  • Strong understanding of inspection methods, metrology, and GD&T, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with statistical tools and quality methods, including SPC, MSA, capability studies, and sampling plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an ISO 9001-compliant QMS, including its quality manual and structure, process interactions, and required documented information.
  • Lead QMS gap assessments and develop an implementation roadmap for certification readiness, tracking actions, owners, and timelines.
  • Establish and manage document control, including procedures, work instructions, forms, records retention, revision control, and change management.
  • Create and run the internal audit program, including scheduling, auditor training, checklists, reporting, and verification that corrective actions are completed effectively.
  • Facilitate Management Review by compiling KPIs, audit results, customer and supplier issues, risks and opportunities, and improvement actions; document outputs and follow up.
  • Support external audits and certification activities by coordinating with the registrar, preparing evidence packages, hosting audits, and closing findings.
  • Own Supplier Quality activities, including supplier qualification and onboarding requirements, supplier performance metrics, and supplier development plans.
  • Plan and execute supplier audits and process assessments; drive corrective actions and verify implementation.
  • Lead nonconformance and corrective action processes for supplier and internal issues, including NCR/MRB, containment, 8D/A3, 5-Why/Fishbone, and effectiveness checks.
  • Develop and maintain incoming inspection plans, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria; support receiving inspection and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Drive data-based improvement using quality tools such as SPC, MSA, capability studies, and trend analysis; build dashboards for internal and supplier performance.
  • Support NPI and engineering changes by ensuring controls are defined, including critical characteristics and inspection/control plans, and supplier readiness is achieved before launch.
