About The Position

Westfield Electroplating Company Inc. (WEPCO) is seeking Quality Engineers to support our Quality Department. WEPCO Quality engineers are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining standards and procedures to comply with aerospace quality system requirements.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail: ability to see the fine details in the myriad of data presented and separate the important from the unimportant.
  • Analysis/Critical thinking/Problem-solving skills: ability to participate in root cause analysis, create process maps, use tools such as PFMEA to find the trouble spots and propose plans to correct them.
  • Communication skills: ability to communicate current and future requirements in a clear simple way to all levels of the organization.
  • Interpersonal skills: ability to work in a collaborative team environment with production personnel, general management and maintain a focused professional working relationship with outside customers and vendors.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook).
  • Technical Reading and Writing skills: ability to read industry specifications and use them to write procedures and technical plans.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a science related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • High attention to detail required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Must be a U.S. Person Per to comply with I-TAR requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in Aerospace and Defense Industry is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining standards and procedures to comply with aerospace quality system requirements.
  • Entering data into computer terminal to store, scan, retrieve, and manipulate for the creation of company processing maps, travelers, and fixed processes.
  • Submitting Technical Plans to customers and/or prime contractors prior to processing parts.
  • Reviewing all customer documentation for the generation of the process traveler for the stated requirements.
  • Verifying that processing is viable and if any changes (specification and customer compliant) are required.
  • Assisting in resolving customer technical questions to improve the quality of parts for increased business.
  • Preparing test panels surfaces for quality tests.
  • Running test panels and or production parts on plating lines and documenting the results.
  • Running hull cells and first article R&D related projects.
  • Conferring with processing engineers and project managers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities of existing process and capabilities required for special projects.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of customer, government, and industry standards and specifications.
  • Verifying requirements for the inspection and testing to ensure process is up to date.
  • Creating and reviewing travelers using WEPCO’s system software.
  • Assisting in preparation for Audits.
