About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining the highest level of quality within the organization. The Quality Engineer will facilitate organizational compliance with all quality policies and procedures, as well as ensure materials and products comply with applicable regulations, specifications, and customer requirements. The Quality Engineer is the liaison for Quality to all front-line employees.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical field; or 2 years related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of FAA conformity/airworthiness regulations and procedures a plus.
  • Quality/supplier auditing experience a plus.
  • Must have excellent organization skills and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter who can work independently without constant oversight to support the strategic organizational vision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand business situations, strategies, theory, processes, management, budgeting, and operations.
  • Demonstrates high critical thinking and reasoning skills and strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment that requires ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Access, Power BI, Smartsheet, and SharePoint.
  • Previous experience with database/software configuration, ERP, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • BS in management, technical, or related field, or demonstrated relevant and equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ related experience in quality systems or continuous improvement related capacity.
  • Previous management experience a plus.
  • ASQ-CQE Preferred.
  • Six Sigma Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as back-up to the Logistics Manager in managing problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conforming product.
  • Perform quality and performance data analysis through the BHH CASS program; provide to management team to support Business/Management Review meetings.
  • Provide coaching and expertise of CAPA/RCCA methodologies to include but not limited to; 5W2H, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and factor tree analysis.
  • Lead activities with stakeholders for root cause analysis, incident investigation, and other quality and risk management tools to investigate trends and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Perform verification of effectiveness to ensure implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Create and manage Quality audit plans.
  • Schedule and assign Quality Audits.
  • Review and audit internal processes, procedures, and products to ensure continued compliance with applicable regulations and standards (ISO9001/AS9100, FAA, DOD).
  • Guide operational departments as needed with technical creation, review, and approval of QMS documents (e.g., procedures, work instructions, forms).
  • Provide education and guidance as needed to management and staff for Quality Systems processes, quality assurance activities, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Conduct new hire and ongoing Quality Systems training (ISO9001/AS9100).
  • Identify training needs for the Quality team and organize both internal and 3rd party training courses.
  • Responsible for completion of required training related to QE position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
