About The Position

The Quality Engineer / Senior Quality Engineer interfaces with customers, suppliers, and in‑house personnel to resolve quality and technical issues in a timely manner and drives continuous improvement to enhance process efficiency and cost effectiveness. At the Senior level, the role additionally supports department‑level planning, coordination, monitoring, measurement, and leadership of continuous improvement initiatives, while mentoring Quality Engineering staff and leading corrective action and review boards. Requirements

  • For Quality Engineer (Entry/Mid): Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Manufacturing‑related field with 5+ years of experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing in the Aerospace/Defense industry.
  • For Quality Engineer (Entry/Mid): 8+ years progressively responsible Quality/Manufacturing experience (ASQ CQE may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree).
  • For Senior Quality Engineer: 15+ years of progressively responsible Quality and/or Manufacturing experience in an Aerospace/Defense manufacturing environment.
  • For Senior Quality Engineer: Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional improvement initiatives and mentoring Quality/Inspection personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ CQE preferred (for Quality Engineer)
  • ASQ Quality Engineering Certification (for Senior level)
  • Master's degree in a related field (for Senior level)

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all M‑B America policies, operating procedures, and work instructions at all times.
  • Serve as a primary Quality Assurance resource for complete resolution of issues pertaining to the quality of the product across planning, production, and post‑delivery processes; interface with customers and suppliers to manage rejects, returns, complaints, and final reporting.
  • Act as a Quality Assurance representative for Material Review Board (MRB) activities; review material/product nonconformances and establish dispositions per written procedures.
  • Initiate corrective action requests (customer, supplier, and in‑house), review responses for adequacy, and facilitate root‑cause investigation and effective corrective/preventive actions.
  • Attend project planning, production, management review, and other relevant meetings to report and obtain information related to Quality requirements.
  • Initiate requests for special material testing and evaluate acquired test data.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain Quality operating procedures, work instructions, forms, and related documentation.
  • Monitor development and revisions of company QMS procedures, work instructions, and forms for compliance with AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute day‑to‑day production floor quality support and issue resolution; escalate systemic risks and participate in cross‑functional problem solving.
  • Support the Quality Manager with department‑level direction, planning, coordination, monitoring, and measurement; organize continuous improvement efforts and preventive measures to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Chair the Corrective Action Review Board (CARB) and record activities in SharePoint; provide oversight of supplier and customer corrective actions for effectiveness.
  • Lead development and maintenance of Quality department metrics; analyze quality data trends to reduce nonconforming product escapes, waiver requests, and scrap; improve deliverables and system reliability.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Quality Engineers and inspection personnel, coordinate training and professional development for Quality Engineering staff.
