About The Position

In this role you will be responsible for QE and automation processes, methodologies, and test strategy improvements and be accountable for driving quality by leveraging automation to improve quality through early detection. You will be responsible for creating Test automation scripts for Core Banking and Specialized applications using existing automation frameworks and tools. You will be accountable for maximizing automation test coverage and using business analysis and automation techniques to optimize testing activities.

Requirements

  • Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related (technical) degree / diploma
  • Certified ISTQB Test Automation Engineering
  • QE Lead experience in at least 2 or 3 projects / Agile squads.
  • 3-5 years of experience in testing iBM iSeries Applications, Web Applications and File validations with proven knowledge of API and Database testing and test automation and rich experience in different types of testing.
  • Banking functionality knowledge.
  • Experience in test case design at different levels (component/service/APIs, integration, mobile, end to end/user scenarios) or non-functional testing (depending on role)
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills with proven Playwright test automation experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins) for automated test deployment
  • Hands-on experience automating both API and UI testing scenarios across application layers

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a developer
  • Experience with cloud solutions such as ELK and Kafka and frameworks such as Spring
  • Functional knowledge of Wire Payment Systems, Gateways, SWIFT and Payment messages (MX/MT).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for testing 2 Core Banking Applications and Enterprise applications including Data Hubs.
  • Responsible to lead and establish QE processes in new projects / existing Agile squads.
  • Accountable for driving Automation and automated test case creation and execution, maximizing automation for all project deliverables and common quality activities.
  • Responsible for developing and executing automated test plans for ecosystem/program/large projects (might assume planning execution accountability)
  • Accountable for driving quality and champion defect prevention/early defect detection
  • Accountable for guiding a team of QE Specialists in Automation to provide the best support and automation for our test activities in projects/programs.
  • Responsible for designing or enhancing Scalable and robust BDD based automation framework and automated test cases.
  • Create Test Suite, Traceability matrix etc. and provide support on test suite walkthrough with different teams.
  • Develop and maintain existing applications automation scripts for test activities and align to RBC Quality Engineering practices while partnering across IT and with assigned business lines to plan functional and non-functional testing activities
  • Responsible for all test execution and maximizing automation for all project deliverables and for following defined processes and tools and alignment with overall QE strategy and framework for the applications
  • Effectively communicate and build automation reports and metrics for project stakeholders and business partners from initiation to close
