About The Position

The Quality Engineer III receives ongoing professional training while participating in the full scope of the department's technical activities. This is the final developmental position prior to assuming the role and responsibility of a fully trained engineer. The role involves technical duties such as reviewing and approving Quality Management System documents. The engineer will make decisions in their area of expertise, supported by precedence or clearly defined procedure, with interpretations and conclusions typically reviewed in detail. They will participate in project-level planning with the leadership team, conduct independent work planning, and have their work plans reviewed for impact on project objectives. The role may involve providing technical and project-level guidance to technicians, engineering assistants, or junior engineering staff, and may provide supervision to technicians and engineering assistants on relevant technical matters within the scope of a project. Compliance with Health & Safety policies and informing management of unsafe working conditions is also required. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Typically 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated competence as Quality Engineer II or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office

Responsibilities

  • Review and approval of Quality Management System documents
  • Participates in project level planning with the leadership team
  • Conducts independent work planning
  • May provide technical, project level guidance to technicians, engineering assistants or junior engineering staff
  • May provide supervision to technicians and engineering assistants on relevant technical matters that fall within the scope of a project
