Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an Aerospace environment or similar manufacturing setting
  • Knows and applies advanced concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program; Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish goals based on experience and judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and outside professionals
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • BA or BS degree in Quality, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered.
  • As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • FAA sensitive position – may be subject to a government security investigation to verify eligibility for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to evaluate product quality, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root cause analysis for quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Halt production processes if critical product defects are identified to prevent nonconforming material from reaching customers.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control systems to ensure their effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Train and mentor team members in quality control methodologies, statistical analysis, and analytical procedures.
  • Generate detailed reports on nonconformance of products or processes, root cause analyses, and quality trends for management and stakeholders.
  • Review and interpret statistical studies, regulatory standards, and emerging trends in quality control to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Identify critical control points in the Value Stream and establish appropriate sampling procedures to monitor and improve quality.
  • Lead and drive the qualification of product and process changes, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Support and participate in audits conducted by Defense, Aerospace, and Customer Auditors, ensuring compliance with industry and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support for failure analysis, reliability testing, and corrective action implementation as required.
  • Review and approve quality-related document changes, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), and deviations.
  • Develop and implement a roadmap for continuous improvement by establishing priorities, methods, and strategies for implementation, using data to guide the process and monitor results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) to mitigate risks and improve processes.
  • Perform process capability analysis and ongoing data reviews to ensure processes remain stable and capable.
  • Utilize advanced quality tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC), to drive process improvements and reduce variability.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements, including AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.
