This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will develop and execute commercial quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies. You will be responsible to drive quality products throughout the organization by maintaining a corporate culture that emphasizes accountability and attention to detail at all levels. Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. in engineering/science OR American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
  • 6+ years’ industry experience in an engineering field with at least 2 years in a quality engineer role
  • Quality experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferred
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Actions, Process Improvements, and/or Kaizens

Nice To Haves

  • Quality assurance experience in rocket engine production environment
  • Experience with GD&T fundamentals
  • Proficiency with AI tools
  • QMS audit experience and quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead vehicle acceptance reviews and ensure adherence to and health of acceptance process
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs
  • Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals
  • Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments
  • Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records
  • Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100
  • Recommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality
  • Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing and test
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness
