About The Position

Provide the technical quality knowledge and support required to maintain continuous improvement within a manufacturing/assembly environment. Ensure adherence to customer and regulatory requirements is maintained. Use quality tools to facilitate Operational Excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent of 8 years of relevant experience in a technical filed.
2 years minimum in a quality, engineering or manufacturing role.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Blueprint reading and basic metrology and GD&T experience preferred

Nice To Haves

Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, CQE, CQA or Lead Auditor certification a plus
Statistical techniques as applied to assembly/manufacturing
Product and process development
Risk management
Root Cause investigation
Lean and 6 sigma tools
Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
Demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities of complex systems
SAP experience
AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience

Responsibilities

Assure compliance with Quality System Regulation, ISO Standards and Standard Operating Procedures as defined by Nordson’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Apply Quality Engineering techniques on new and existing products.
Assure all products meet or exceed customer requirements.
Perform transactional processing of discrepant material including returns to vendors and financial reconciliation of scrap material.
Partner with Nordson Supplier Quality Engineers to drive permanent corrective actions to resolve supplier issues.
Identify critical components, specifications and processes which should be targeted for monitoring, fixturing, or design modifications.
Lead local containment activities and communicate containment risks to stakeholders.
Assist in development and implementation of quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem solving.
Lead corrective and preventive action projects driving towards defect reduction in the organization.
Support evaluation and testing of Customer and Warranty Returns products.
Support product teams in the implementation of Lean/Cost Saving Initiatives.
Represent Quality in production process efforts, quality planning, FMEA, and Risk Analysis.
Participate in IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities including the drafting, review, and execution of protocols.
Apply statistical tools such as Process Capability, Measurement System Analysis, and Statistical Process Control to assess and improve production processes.
Handle customer complaints including the implementation of problem-solving actions to ensure product quality. Maintain all required documentation for closure.
Support the QC Department in the proper documentation and disposition of non-conforming product.
Work with departments to assure thorough Corrective Action problem solving implementation.
Review product and process changes to ensure proper documentation and actions related to risk assessment are complete.
Train Quality Assurance Inspectors and manufacturing personnel in understanding specifications, new product, procedures, and measurement techniques.
Lead or participate in internal/external Quality System audits.
Maintain effective working relations, communications and feedback with all other departments.
Lead and develop Quality Engineering and technical staff.
Other duties as assigned.
