About The Position

As an Engineer I, you’ll launch your engineering career in a hands-on, team-oriented environment where you’ll learn how products are designed, tested, and manufactured at scale. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to learn, solve problems, and grow their technical skills while working alongside experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related field)
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals and problem-solving techniques
  • Exposure to blueprint reading; GD&T is a plus
  • Interest in working in a manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to learn tools such as Minitab, Excel, or basic data analysis systems
  • Strong initiative and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal)

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or engineering
  • Exposure to statistical analysis, SQL, or quality tools
  • Spanish language skills

Responsibilities

  • Support product quality and manufacturing operations
  • Assist with troubleshooting product and process issues on the manufacturing floor
  • Help investigate customer and production challenges and support resolution efforts
  • Learn and execute testing
  • Support product validation and design verification testing
  • Assist in developing test plans and documenting results
  • Apply engineering fundamentals
  • Analyze designs, tolerances, and test results with guidance from senior engineers
  • Participate in problem-solving activities using structured approaches
  • Contribute to continuous improvement
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or production issues
  • Support engineering and quality processes
  • Assist with engineering change requests and documentation updates
  • Help develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
  • Gain exposure across the business
  • Learn manufacturing processes, product lines, and internal systems
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams
  • Build foundational skills
  • Develop knowledge of project management concepts and quality tools (FMEA, control plans, etc.)
  • Learn Badger Meter’s safety standards and engineering practices
