About The Position

The Quality Engineer I is an entry-level position responsible for ensuring products conform to established requirements and standards through appropriate audits, inspections, and testing. The role works with functional departments, suppliers, and external experts to support Zimmer Biomet’s quality goals.

Requirements

Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships across departments and with external parties, including suppliers and regulatory agencies.
Ability to deliver results and meet deadlines.
Good oral and written communication skills for communicating with multiple levels of the company.
Demonstrated characteristics indicating high potential for future development opportunities.
Good command of Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Basic understanding of QSR/ISO regulations, design assurance, FMEA, and product testing methods.
Ability to use optical comparators and CMMs.
Bachelor of Science in engineering, or an alternative bachelor's degree program with a quality engineer certification such as CQE.

Nice To Haves

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
Medical device experience, particularly in the orthopedic industry.

Responsibilities

Formulate procedures, specifications, and standards for Zimmer products and processes.
Develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans.
Collect and analyze data for gauge and product evaluation.
Identify critical personnel, gauges, procedures, and materials needed to complete new products.
Ensure suppliers have the information and facilities necessary to deliver quality products to Zimmer Biomet.
