About The Position

The Quality Engineer 1 will utilize quality engineering methodologies, systems and practices to directly support the inbound and outbound distribution of Boston Scientific products within the Quincy distribution center. This engineer will play a key role in ensuring the day-to-day supply chain executes successfully, supplying medical devices in real time to Boston Scientific customers around the world. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in the medical device industry or a similar field.
  • Strong engineering, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lift 15-20-pound boxes or materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with supply chain distribution, SAP, Manhattan WMS or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Experience with product inspection and acceptance activities.
  • Experience with physical and systematic product hold and exception activities.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Directly support inbound receiving, inspection and release activities, as well as outbound putaway, storage, pick, pack and shipment operations to ensure supply chain efficiency.
  • Engage in nonconforming events, collaborating and communicating cross-functionally to resolve issues.
  • Identify and own nonconformances through resolution, including quarantining and dispositioning product as required.
  • Drive supply chain efficiencies for distribution center operations across all divisions through continuous improvement and collaboration with operational teams.
  • Support continuous improvement activities, NCEPs, CAPA and lean initiatives from a quality perspective for both internal and external customers.
  • Proactively investigate, identify and implement best-in-class quality engineering practices to support engineering changes, existing processes and new processes from a quality perspective.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis and cause-and-effect analysis.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
