This position is for a Factory Quality Production Engineer with an innovative attitude to work in a Precision High-Tech Manufacturing Environment. Candidate will work with development engineers to implement comprehensive production test that incorporates a high level of performance verification and troubleshooting diagnostics.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Engineering (Preferred Quality/Industrial)
  • 2+ years’ experience in an Engineering environment with Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or 0+ years’ experience in an Engineering environment with Master of Science degree in Engineering
  • Experience in a production environment with high tech products and complex production process
  • Experience in the field of technical Production Engineering and quality methodology such as statistical process control (SPC) and FMEA
  • Experience in Quality and Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing
  • Experience with engineering from an industrial and business mindset
  • Able to read optical, mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Strong MS Excel data management and presentation skills
  • Capability to interface with multidisciplinary groups (including senior leadership), and be willing to take on responsibility and follow through
  • Possess strong ownership characteristics – demonstrated commitment to achieving results on time
  • Have strong written and oral communicative skills – ability to communicate effectively to your team and to senior management

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW and Python is a plus
  • Working knowledge of NX, Teamcenter and SAP is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed support for Statistical Process Control (SPC) parameters and maintenance like Critical to Quality (CTQ) and Critical to Customer (CTC) target setting, monitoring, and offline reviews.
  • Facilitate ongoing and planned Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (pFMEA) reviews and follow-up actions
  • Facilitate Dead-On-Arrival (DOA) investigations along with the DOA process
  • Spends up to 50% of time in the Cleanroom providing direct support to production for quality improvements, data collection and monitoring.
  • Utilize SPC data and analysis reports to drive teams towards structural process improvements and trustworthy SPC data targets.
  • Chair cross-sector SPC review meetings to present and analyze data.
  • Generate and distribute SPC reports for multiple modules on a weekly basis.
  • Work with Engineering and Assembly staff within Optical, Mechanical, Electrical and Software Disciplines to develop Quality Processes, execute Process Requirements, and Implement Best Known Methods (BKMs).
  • Provide input for and utilize quality templates, tools and systems with focus to streamline and automate as much as possible.
  • Provide input for and help to implement setting process targets and goals.
  • Generate action plans for underperforming Key Process Indicators (KPIs) working with teams for structural solutions as required.
  • Work with teams and Business Engineering to develop and improve reporting tools with goals to automate data collection and input as much as possible.
  • Support External and Internal Auditing for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) readiness and Manufacturing Quality among other opportunities.
  • Support Quality Management Meeting reviews and production preparation and planning 6P=P reviews.
  • Support in-production quality issues by assisting Production Assembly and Test Engineers and Technicians with cross-sector communications and historical data and analysis.
  • Review Failure Analysis Reports from customers and suppliers and help validate the root-cause of the failure Interface with internal and external customers with respect to internal process quality.
  • Support the reviews and development of manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions from a quality perspective.
  • Support new product introduction in an existing “Concurrent Engineering” environment.
  • Guide requirements for equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, and new equipment specification and procurement for analytical instruments used in manufacturing.
