By providing team members with tools, training, information, analysis, processes, and problem-solving expertise our Quality Engineers serve as stewards of our brand, ensure the highest levels of quality and drive world class operational efficiency. Quality Engineers may be assigned to rolls with focus in specific areas of the organization, for example: New Product Development, Continuous Improvement, Metrology and Supplier Quality. With occasional direction and assistance of others, has the ability to perform tasks such as: Follow written procedures and work instructions. Make suggestions for improvements. Make decisions on issues that are not addressed by an existing procedure or work instructions. Design inspection & test equipment and provide work instructions and training as needed. Assist in product testing and ensure product testing is completed in support of project timing. Collaborate with others to create product test plans that ensure product specifications are validated. Purchase new gauges, inspection and test equipment when needed Facilitate both Gauge Capability and Process Capability Studies, perform analysis and interpret results. Assign appropriate inspection equipment & methods to measure components and products. Improve inspection equipment & methods to measure components, product and reduce cost. Create and revise SPC, AQL, Skip-Lot, Audit Test Plans, and Control Plans to ensure component and product specifications are maintained. Respond and provide support to SPC alarms and Quality Alerts. Setup SPC stations and data collection programs Create programs used on inspection equipment to efficiently and accurately inspect items. Help team members interpret GD&T specifications and inspection results. Lead and document problem solving activities using scientific methods (e.g. 8D). Monitor operational and quality data; identify, quantify and assist in development of solutions for improvement opportunities. Plan & Perform Audits in manufacturing, assembly, office and supplier settings & follow upon corrective actions Travel domestically and internationally to support suppliers and problem solving activities. Participate, document and advise team members in Supplier Selection and Qualification activities. Ensure Compliance and documentation is established to Regulatory and/or Industry Standards. (e.g. CE, FDA, ASTM, SAE) Any other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor
