About The Position

In this role, your responsibilities will be to analyze quality trends and recommend improvements to help reduce Cost of Quality and improve yield. You will lead or participate on continuous improvement or corrective action teams as assigned, determine the root cause of quality problems and implement effective corrective action. You will participate on cross-functional teams to qualify and approve new processes, capital equipment and materials. You will prepare detailed quality plans for small-scale projects to reduce risk of producing non-conformances and provide or coordinate required project quality related deliverables, such as, PPAP’s, D/PFMEA, capability studies, statistical analysis, inspection plans, quality records, MSA, and workmanship standards. You will complete or assist with quality actions stemming from Design Reviews, DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s. You will provide training and mentoring to promote proper use and understanding of quality tools. You will recommend design, manufacturing or control changes to increase product performance, quality or reliability. You will participate on Material Review Board and coordinate inspections or tests if necessary to determine disposition. You will work with suppliers on PPAPs for new suppliers, new parts and new tools, and work with suppliers on corrective actions for non-conforming parts. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 years experience as a Technician or Engineer in a Manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in technical skills, such as, statistical analysis, FMEA, SPC and other common quality tools
  • Experience with ERP and QMS software (JDE and EtQ preferred)
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient utilization of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or Technician
  • 6 Sigma or other Lean Manufacturing Certification
  • ISO9000 experience
