About The Position

The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture, comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd., is delivering civil and track works for Metrolinx's GO Expansion program. This program aims to increase GO service across the network, including new track, station renovations, and infrastructure upgrades. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture leverages global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network. This role is a newly created position within the ONxpress Civils Design & Construction team, responsible for the modernization and modification of the key area network and innovations in regional rail infrastructure construction.

Requirements

  • A degree in Civil Engineer, Construction Management, or related industry.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in heavy civil projects.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS tools, document control, etc.
  • G license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably experience or understanding of transit or construction systems in Ontario
  • Experience with Metrolinx project or similar asset
  • Experience leading standards audits and techniques.
  • Preferably to have ISO 9001:2015 Lead / Internal Auditor certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of quality assurance & control activities as defined in Quality Plans, procedures, and ITPs.
  • Perform and document inspections and tests assigned in the applicable ITPs.
  • Assist in evaluating and documenting the quality of construction work performed by ONxpress Civil Contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Verify that equipment used for testing and inspection is fit for purpose and properly calibrated, as required.
  • Identify and report non-compliant work or materials when observed and assist in tracking the status of related Non-conformances.
  • Help ensure non-compliant work or materials are not processed, installed, or used until corrective actions are taken.
  • Coordinate quality-related activities with Quality Managers, other quality coordinators, inspectors, and external agencies as required by the ITPs.
  • Support the completion, accuracy, and organization of quality records and documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing test packages and related documentation prior to inspections and testing.
  • Prepare and maintain quality records for assigned work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
