This role involves making and printing certs from daily bills of lading, performing quality audits on samples from various production areas (Furnaces, Shears, Level Wind Coilers, Groovers, Super Coilers, and the Bend Room), and conducting physical testing of finished products to ensure continued quality. The position also includes maintenance of analytical equipment and instruments, and maintaining laboratory records and logbooks.

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma, associate degree or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in quality assurance or manufacturing preferred.
• Good analytical ability.
• Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Make and print certs from daily bills of lading.
• Perform daily Level Wind Coiler (LWC) and Shear quality audits.
• Perform Groovers and Super Coiler quality audits as needed.
• Conduct physical testing of finished products, including checking dimensions with a micrometer against specifications, Rockwell hardness tests, grain evaluations, and pull tests as required by the customer.
• Check furnaces at least every hour for product loaded, furnace temperature, and speed.
• Perform quarterly micrometer testing of operators and provide refresher training as needed.
• Answer questions and/or assist operators.
• Yellow tag material in question until the first shift makes a decision on correction or if the material can be used for a different customer.
• Perform other duties as needed, such as record keeping, cleaning, and filing.
