About The Position

This role is responsible for working with key medical equipment customers to ensure the cleaning, availability, inspection, and shipping of medical equipment. The position involves various levels of responsibility, from basic inspection and cleaning to troubleshooting and repair, with increasing complexity and leadership duties at higher levels (Level I, II, and III). The role also includes supervisory responsibilities such as organizing workflow, training new hires, and assisting with inventory management and reporting.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.

  • Up-to-date immunization for Hepatitis B or signed declination form.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with electronic equipment and products.
  • Ability to lead and direct workload of team members.
  • Good interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, to all levels.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Basic PC skills (non-programming).
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs/software.
  • Standing six (6) or more hours per workday; sitting two (2) or more hours per workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push up to 450 pounds up ramps.
  • Ability to bend, reach and stoop frequently throughout the shift.
  • Appropriate safety gear must be worn as needed.
  • Dedication to the Quality System: promptly detect non-conformances, provide timely and effective control and corrective actions, ensure full compliance with the Quality System, and meet or exceed company standards, customer expectations, and ISO 13485 International Standard.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification a plus (Level I).
  • Mechanical training and/or medical device experience desirable (Level I).
  • Technical degree or certification desired (Level II).
  • A minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience in a technical position; mechanical training and/or medical device experience desirable (Level III).
  • A minimum of six (6) months of prior lead and/or supervisory experience required (Level III).

Responsibilities

  • Alerts and facilitates the coordination of units needing inspection and provides updates to the Inventory Management System.
  • Ensures inbound units needing repair are placed in the proper area and tagged with available information.
  • Alerts Inventory Control and clients on customer equipment needing repair, coordinates repair schedules, and provides updates.
  • Cleans and maintains medical equipment, including decontamination where required.
  • Conducts basic function testing of medical equipment.
  • Completes necessary paperwork procedures associated with daily activities.
  • Coordinates daily calls with the TEC office.
  • Ensures all units have original, accurate, and readable barcodes.
  • Ensures that all ship dates are met and follows established shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Facilitates physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and parts management.
  • Ensures that allocated units are the units used for orders.
  • Ensures warehouse technician check sheets are correct.
  • Establishes, organizes, and maintains the warehouse area per policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates and assists with tradeshow staging and training on site as required.
  • Reports any issues or discrepancies to management.
  • Interacts with clients on inventory availability and allocation.
  • May be responsible for track and tracing of small parcel shipments.
  • Receives additional instructions and directions from Lead MedTec Technicians, TEC office, MedTec program, and/or management.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues with customer devices and equipment; adjusts, maintains, and repairs customer devices and equipment.
  • Serves as a point of escalation for communications with clients, Sales Representatives, and/or hospital representatives.
  • Assists with training junior personnel and provides performance feedback to management.
  • Organizes and coordinates daily workflow with team members.
  • Allocates daily workload to team members.
  • Monitors email and other communication notifications, establishing processes to ensure all are answered timely.
  • Responsible for training incoming new hires and junior personnel.
  • Ensures that all MedTec Technicians and applicable warehouse personnel are offered the Hepatitis B vaccination.
  • Assists with managing month-end processes and reporting.
  • Assists with coordinating monthly and annual inventories, including weekly cycle counts.
  • Works with management to ensure proper coverage for scheduled and/or pending team member time off requests.
  • Serves as backup for manager in manager's absence.
  • Maintains current familiarity with DPU, IMS and Red NA system functionality as related to MedTec Technician completion of duties.
  • Coordinates with Field Service Engineers (FSEs) for escalated repairs/service.
