Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

  • Current or prior Labcorp experience
  • ASCP or AMT certification
  • Previous clinical laboratory testing experience
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Production and aliquoting of cytogenetic media and reagents
  • Validation of cytogenetic media and reagents/ Statistical analysis
  • Harvest adhesion and suspension cultures that result in slide preparations
  • Chromosome analysis using microscopy and computer imaging system
  • Facilitate or perform calibration of pipettes, thermometers, and other instruments
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Wash, sterilize, and process laboratory dishware
  • Perform general lab support duties
  • Perform daily performance monitors of equipment in accordance with SOP requirements. Recognize deviations from the standard or normal results. Clean equipment as outlines in users' manuals or SOP. Adjust or calibrate equipment according to user's manual or SOP.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
