About The Position

The Quality Technician Level I is responsible for the examination of finished and unfinished product to ensure quality standards and procedures are being met and to identify defects or production errors. Prevent defective materials from shipping.

Requirements

GED or a High School Diploma Required
0-2 years previous quality inspection experience of polyethylene fittings.
Basic computer skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Manufacturing Experience.
Able to perform basic mathematics.
Experience operating a forklift and/or pallet jack.
Experience operating overhead cranes.
Highly motivated and capable of working with little instruction or supervision.
Detail oriented, organized and perform general housekeeping tasks.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to work as a team.

Responsibilities

Abide by IPP’s safety and Health Policies and Procedures including wearing proper PPE and maintaining a safe work environment.
Inspect finished and unfinished product as assigned for visual and dimensional defects to specified standards.
Non-Destructive Inspection of finished and unfinished product in the form of x-ray inspection.
Audit various stages of production to ensure machines are producing within specified standards.
Remove defective product from production, designate and document reason for removal.
Report defects to production and quality managers.
Submit digital reports for the above listed inspections.
Release accepted products for transfer to distribution.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the quality department and IPP.
Train new employees in the use of inspection and measuring equipment to the appropriate work instructions.
Cross train in the destructive pressure testing of products and in the use of lab equipment for the various materials testing.
Perform tasks as assigned by the Quality Supervisor or Manager.
Other duties as assigned.
