About The Position

The Quality Control Technician for Batteries Plus will perform a variety of tasks to meet quality and productivity standards to ensure that product is handled correctly. The Quality Control Technician will also ship out products to our customers in a timely manner. The Quality Control Technician will be an onsite position at the Batteries Plus Distribution Center in Glendale, WI.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months of warehouse distribution center experience.
  • Have an understanding of distribution center operations, inspection, quality control/testing, product specifications and willingness to be cross trained in all areas
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, training audits and procedure manuals
  • Ability to become equipment certified
  • Proficiency in basic math

Responsibilities

  • Perform audits at various stages of the distribution process to identify and correct errors.
  • Use electronic scanning devices to audit inventory as well as to track movement of products.
  • Scan and verify accuracy of item, quantity and destination of product being loaded against invoice.
  • Document and report errors.
  • Read and understand Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents to ensure proper Inbound and Outbound warehouse process.
  • Understand product weights and types to maintain quality and avoid damage and spoilage of products.
  • Provide immediate feedback to help improve the overall quality standards of the department.
  • Report quality numbers on a daily basis with quality improvement recommendations.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds items while performing audits and use foot to operate a machine to lift heavier products.
  • Use warehouse management software (WMS) to assist with locating orders and products within the warehouse.
  • Follow all safety procedures and rules established in the facility. Wear proper PPE
  • Keep all work areas clean and free of hazards. Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or damaged products
  • Actively participate in all safety and other training programs
