About The Position

The Quality Control Technician works in the Quality Assurance department and reports to the Director of QA. The role carries out company policies and procedures related to GMPs, food safety, and quality to help keep the facility audit-ready. The position is in person at one location in Thornton, Colorado. Scheduled hours may vary according to company needs; shifts generally consist of four 10-hour shifts. The current openings are for a morning shift (4:30 AM–3:30 PM) and an evening shift (3:30 PM–12:00 AM). Weekend availability is required. Pay is $22.00–$25.00, depending on experience.

Requirements

Able to stand for four hours at a time.
Attention to detail.
Comfortable correcting peers.
Weekend availability is required.
Able to reliably commute to Thornton, CO 80023 or plan to relocate before starting.

Nice To Haves

Food manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Carry out company policies and procedures related to GMPs, food safety, and quality.
Monitor and document compliance with policies, procedures, and standards, including net weight, metal detection, QC checks, retention sample logs, hold logs, label verifications, and other required paperwork.
Report violations to the Production Lead or Supervisor, and report repeat violations to QA and Production Managers.
Implement corrective actions for policy or procedure non-compliance and standards variances.
Pull retention samples, store them appropriately, and log the required information.
Inspect equipment at the beginning of the production day and throughout the day for cleanliness and safe use.
Immediately report food safety or quality issues to Management.
Place out-of-spec items on hold as needed and identify quality and food safety issues.
Provide GMP training to new hires and refresher training as needed.
Complete other projects as assigned.
