The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all manufactured products meet or exceed quality standards, as well as all safety, environmental, and ISO requirements. This role involves implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing and QC environment. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in science or engineering OR 3-5 years of QC laboratory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
  • Ability to present technical data to QC team, business leaders, and others.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Good verbal, written, and math skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized and meticulous.
  • Ability to roll-up the sleeves and execute daily QC responsibilities as required.
  • Must be able to travel 0-5%.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand 75% of the day.
  • Must be able to sit 25% of the day.
  • Must be able to twist/bend 25% of the day.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong technical knowledge or ability to leverage knowledge of chemistry in cementitious chemistry, epoxy liquids, latex, and/or any LATICRETE product lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide improvements for QC lab workflow, testing, and other QC related activities – provide evidence of projects led.

Responsibilities

  • Manage QC Lab and Process: Ensure knowledge of work instructions, procedures, and calibration of QC instrumentation. File all lab testing results and enter pertinent information into the computer database. Obtain QC testing samples according to Quality Requirements testing Level and maintain a storage system for retained samples. Monitor the execution of Good Laboratory Practices. Enter test results in the QC tracking system and crosscheck records. Order supplies for the QC lab and maintain the QC data-up system. Assist in communications with production personnel for a smooth production flow. Ensure all QC instruments meet calibration requirements. Work with team members to identify improved methods of QC analysis and/or new QC lab equipment. Ensure all CoA's, MSDS, Calibration/Verification meet ISO 9001 traceability. Complete and distribute all forms in accordance with work instructions. Write a daily report of all QC testing performed. Support root cause analysis investigations of nonconforming product. Test and report on all Field Test complaints. Provide improvements for QC lab workflow, testing, and other QC related activities. Compare all C of A’s against the Master C of A to determine acceptance or rejection and enter all pertinent data into the computer system.
  • Data Collection and Data Analysis: Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and communicate with superiors with appropriate solutions in a timely and efficient manner. Provide data to Quality Control Champion and Regional QC Managers for monthly KPI reports.
  • Quality Control Ways Of Working (Daily): Prioritize and allocate work, delegating tasks to lab personnel to support company priorities and drive results. Set clear priorities for the team and individuals, including appropriate allocation of resources. Build Team Culture by holding lab personnel accountable for upholding the organization's values and properly escalating unhealthy conflict. Foster an open environment for constructive feedback. Communicate and Motivate by sharing regular business updates clearly and timely, and listening carefully to the views of peers, lab personnel, and internal customers.
  • Provide and ensure batch adjustments are meeting expectations based on QC lab batches performed.
