About The Position

The Quality Control Technician continuously monitors the production, packaging, and coding of finished products to meet company and customer standards. Investigating, correcting, and communicating non-standard results in a fast-paced production environment is routine.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one-year related experience in a quality role is required.
  • Must be proficient with Excel, Outlook, & Word.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to communicate with employees and management.
  • A strong analytical mindset will help identify areas for process improvement as well as work to maintain department efficiencies.
  • This role requires a positive attitude focusing on teamwork to collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals.
  • The ability to interpret written, oral, and schedule instructions is a must.
  • Ability to recognize and investigate the causes of suspect mechanical failures, and to recognize the potential effect they may have on food safety, regulatory, and quality standards of the company required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, regulations, correspondence and memos in English.
  • Ability to write both simple and detailed correspondence.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate thoughts, ideas, desires and problems to fellow employees, in both individual and small groups situations, management and other employees of the company on a one-to-one or group basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a food-manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Continuous monitoring, testing, and recording of the production process, raw materials, and finished product attributes through production floor observations and sample testing.
  • Set up and monitor instruments and equipment continuously before, during and after production; including but not limited to scales, checkweighers, metal detectors, and x-rays; cleaning of these devices as part of plant sanitation is required.
  • Performs product testing, including popping performance, flavor evaluations, and salt and color testing.
  • Record keeping for significant amounts of collected data including paper records, computer spreadsheets, and computer databases.
  • Investigates and reports any defects in materials to Managers of Quality, Production, Mixing, & Maintenance.
  • Segregates defective or suspect raw materials and finished products to prohibit their use.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
