About The Position

RM Aggregates is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented seasonal Quality Control Technician to support aggregate production operations during the construction season. The primary responsibility of this role is conducting sieve analysis and quality control testing on sand, gravel, and crushed aggregate products to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications. RM Aggregates is part of the RMC Group of Companies, a family-owned business supplying concrete and related services since 1994. Requirements

  • Valid class 5 drivers license and clean abstract.
  • Reliable transportation to and from site.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and take on varying tasks.
  • Emphasis on safety and supporting a safe work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience working as labour, at an aggregate pit, or in a construction setting is preferred.
  • Previous aggregate, construction materials, or laboratory testing experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with sieve testing and aggregate gradation testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sieve analysis and aggregate gradation testing on sand, gravel, and crushed products.
  • Collect representative samples from stockpiles, conveyors, crushers, wash plants, and customer loads.
  • Record and maintain accurate testing documentation and QC reports.
  • Communicate quality concerns and out-of-specification material to supervisors and plant operators.
  • Monitor material consistency and stockpile quality.
  • Assist with any additional aggregate testing as required.
  • Maintain and clean testing equipment and work areas.
  • Perform general labour at the pit as required.
  • Support and assist the Pit Supervisor, Equipment Operators, and Scale Attendant as required.
  • Comply with safe operating procedures, PPE requirements, and hazard identification processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
