About The Position

This role involves performing quality control procedures on returning camera and video equipment to ensure it is presentable and in ideal working condition. Responsibilities include assembling equipment racks, diagnosing and repairing damaged items, managing firmware versions, organizing and storing tested equipment, and processing missing or damaged items. The technician will also pull, prep, and scan equipment for outbound orders, troubleshoot equipment, and provide customer support. The role requires following directions, assisting other departments, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment in compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a GED
  • Experience working with professional signal processing and switching products such as Barco and Analog Way switchers, and AJA and Black Magic converters
  • Possesses a basic understanding of inventory software for forecasting of workload.
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to change circuit cards and reconfigure multi-slot switchers.
  • Comprehension of video theory, different signal formats, and cable types
  • Be able to handle hard deadlines and plan workflow depending on client needs.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of computer and audio-visual equipment
  • Prior experience in live event production
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Equipment knowledge in disciplines other than video
  • Advanced troubleshooting and equipment repair skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures on returning camera and video equipment.
  • Ensure all cases and equipment are presentable and in ideal working condition.
  • Assemble and configure equipment racks for client delivery.
  • Diagnose, log, and repair damaged items.
  • Manage firmware versions for applicable devices.
  • Organize and store all tested equipment.
  • Correctly process missing or damaged equipment.
  • Reshelf equipment correctly, with QC tag.
  • Pull/prep/scan equipment for outbound orders.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer support for clients.
  • Follow direction of the department leader and managers.
  • Assist other departments when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
