About The Position

The Quality Control Technician 2 performs analyses, inspections, and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, samples, and finished products from manufacturing. The role ensures quality standards, customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for chemical or physical properties are met. It also involves performing qualitative tests or assays, supporting the maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus, completing required inspections and documentation, preparing and monitoring quality statistics and reports, reviewing production records for conformance to procedures, and conducting non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged, or tested products.

Requirements

Associate's degree and 1 year of relevant experience.
One of the following may substitute for the associate's degree: NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate; high school diploma/GED and 2 years of related manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience; or high school diploma/GED and 4 years of non-related manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Perform qualitative tests or assays on samples.
Aid in the maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus.
Perform required inspections and checks, analyze studies, and document results.
Prepare and monitor quality statistics and reports.
Review production records for conformance to procedures.
Conduct non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged, or tested products.
