About The Position

Kensington Glass Arts specializes in high-end interior glass work, typically for law firms and organizations with very upscale office interiors. The company is unique in that we manufacture and install architectural glass products. KGa single source capacity provides for a unique capability to control the destiny of our projects from beginning to end.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work at our Ijamsville, MD location.
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
  • OSHA 10 certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all glass is received, produced, tempered, loaded, and delivered as a superior quality product, free of defects such as bows, haze, scratches, and chips.
  • Pay special attention to loading and material handling of the product, especially the strapping down and tie-off of the glass on trucks.
  • Report on truck conditions that could damage glass (e.g., bad props, straps).
  • Report on equipment that could damage glass during the process.
  • Routinely check receiving of product, cutting line, polishing, fabrication, seam, wash, tempering, loading, and jobsite delivery of product, ensuring operators measure glass.
  • Check for defects such as scratches, haze, chips, and verify dimensions on labels and glass.
  • Review all glass for quality control standards.
  • Participate in activities requiring additional help, helping, and organizing as required.
  • Make suggestions to improve the quality program.
  • Work with the fab sales team to answer and resolve complaint issues.
  • Evaluate recut glass to resolve process issues and lower costs.
  • Occasionally talk with customers or visit job sites to resolve quality concerns.
  • Ensure temper glass checks and photos are taken and recorded on each recipe change.
  • Be instrumental and responsive to changes in the production schedule.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for seaming, washing, and quality control processes.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of production KPMs.
  • Assist in the identification of KPMs to create a completely accountable, 100% customer satisfaction goal.
