About The Position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing timely inspections and documenting in-process truck production and completed truck assemblies. This role utilizes measuring instruments and established test procedures to verify product acceptability and compliance with engineering specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Technician evaluates finished products to ensure they are technically sound, troubleshoots product issues, provides guidance to production and assembly teams, and supports continuous improvement of testing processes and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience with aviation refuelers, including maintenance, repair, and in-servicing of refuelers.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with applicable program modules and components.
  • Must meet applicable Garsite assembler qualification requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of the production and assembly process.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with applicable software systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to train and provide technical guidance to others.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, trade or technical school certification, or applicable military experience with aviation refuelers preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect components and workmanship throughout the production process and approve or reject work based on established quality requirements.
  • Identify, document, and communicate non-conformities and ensure identified concerns are properly resolved.
  • Review sales releases, sales configurators, and truck specifications against completed trucks to verify accuracy.
  • Perform flow testing of trucks to ensure proper functionality of components, controls, and programming, including RPM, pressure, vacuum, and leak testing.
  • Utilize proper testing procedures in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Evaluate and schedule test stand activities based on production requirements and monthly forecasts.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of testing processes and outputs.
  • Troubleshoot product issues and provide guidance and feedback to production and assembly teams.
  • Photograph and document completed trucks and maintain required documentation within the digital job file.
  • Monitor the detailing process and identify conditions that do not meet established quality standards.
  • Maintain, inspect, and ensure proper calibration of testing equipment.
  • Assist in determining equipment needs and developing new testing procedures and improvements to existing tests.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes, productivity, and safety.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, safety, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide engineering and technical support as needed.
  • Assist with product regulatory compliance and warranty-related technical issues.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, customers, and vendors regarding quality requirements.
  • Participate in customer flow testing and provide customer training as required.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to employees in troubleshooting and resolving issues involving programs, modules, and components.
  • Notify leadership of safety, environmental, maintenance, or quality concerns.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project, inspection, testing, and production documentation.
  • Perform applicable test stand inspections, maintenance, housekeeping, labeling, documentation, and SPCC-related responsibilities based on technician classification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
