This specific role is responsible for the inspection of machined component parts and completed assemblies to ensure they meet drawing and specification requirements. The position involves performing accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections of materials, components, and sub-assemblies according to established inspection plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to three years’ experience in mechanical inspection, one year in Quality Department; calibration experience and familiarity with ISO 10012 or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Visual Acuity: Can meet and maintain inspection certification through regular vision exams.
  • Ability to operate inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to perform inspections using open setup methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and gauges accurately.
  • Good visual acuity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to distinguish colors when required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, integrity, and objectivity in all inspection activities.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with personnel across multiple departments.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Calibration experience and familiarity with ISO 10012.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of machined components and assemblies.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using standard measuring tools and equipment.
  • Verify product conformance to drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Record inspection results and maintain quality records accurately.
  • Review certifications and supporting documentation for completeness.
  • Identify and report nonconforming material to supervision or Quality Engineering.
  • Ensure parts are properly identified and traceable throughout the inspection process.
  • Follow established inspection procedures, sampling plans, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support continuous improvement activities and departmental objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
