About The Position

The Quality Control (QC) Inspector – Night Shift is responsible for ensuring all fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing processes meet ASME code requirements and company quality standards. This Quality Control (QC) Inspector – Night Shift role supports production by inspecting welds, validating welder qualifications, and verifying documentation accuracy. The ideal Quality Control (QC) Inspector – Night Shift has strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain compliance in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of ASME code requirements and welding standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld details
  • Experience with quality control and quality assurance processes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to use measurement and inspection tools (tape measures, calipers, paint thickness gauges)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Must be able to pass an eye exam
  • ASNT Certification or required ASNT hours
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to enter confined spaces through a 12” x 16” manway
  • Ability to stand for 10+ hours and operate tools
  • Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, and confined-space work
  • Strong visual acuity and depth perception
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with PPE
  • Ability to lift or maneuver up to 75 lbs safely

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret Quality Control Manual requirements for fabrication and assembly
  • Verify welders are properly qualified and working within approved parameters
  • Inspect welds for appearance, defects, and ASME compliance
  • Ensure welds are properly cleaned and free of defects
  • Confirm welds are marked with the appropriate welder identification
  • Verify NDE and PWHT processes are completed and properly documented
  • Ensure calibrated equipment is used for testing and inspection processes
  • Inspect and document pneumatic and hydrostatic testing
  • Stamp ASME code items and maintain photo documentation
  • Inspect sandblasting, paint prep, and final coatings
  • Complete pre-flight checklists and verify corrections
  • Verify materials meet purchase order requirements
