About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Operational Accountant performing Quality Control checks and audits. Provide day-to-day governance and oversight for the Reconciliation Utility Team. In this role, you will monitor reconciliation completion and quality, track and escalate issues, support audits and regulatory reviews, maintain governance and control documentation, produce management reporting, and partner with business, operations, risk, and compliance teams to strengthen control execution and monitoring, and improve processes. Perform moderately complex operational account activities related to maintaining ledger accounts and developing reports. Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

2+ years of Operational Accounting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Experience in general ledger reconciliation and an understanding of the accounting policies related to general ledger management.
Demonstrated risk management skills to ensure adherence to accounting and financial control policies and procedures, as well as identifying and reporting risk issues to the appropriate groups within the organization
Experience with Common Recon applications, IrisWeb and AXCIS

Provide day-to-day governance and oversight for the Consumer & Wholesale Reconciliation Utility
Provide guidance and oversight for Reconciliation Utility employees on internal policies
Document work papers, research, and answer inquiries for internal and external audit teams
Identify and escalate issues to be addressed timely, accurately and in adherence with COSO, GAAP, SOX and Bank risk policies
Work on projects as needed
