About The Position

Primary responsibility is to perform microbiological testing of finished products, process samples, raw materials, environmental testing, and all else necessary to ensure the safety and quality of all products. The overall goal of this position is to be an integral part of producing quality products.

Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform microbiological testing of finished products, process samples, raw materials, and environmental testing.
Investigate and assist in root cause analyses of microbial contamination.
Prepare media and stock solutions necessary for the Micro. Lab.
Obtain, handle, and retest all recheck/replate samples.
Count and interpret microbiological results, report results to appropriate personnel, and maintain lab records.
Perform monthly environmental air testing and water testing.
Perform weekly incubator temperature checks.
Run Chemical QC lab analyses as necessary (e.g., egg solids and % salt).
Sample and test all incoming loads of eggs.
Update microbiology procedures manual as needed.
Maintain Micro Lab in a clean and orderly manner.
Inventory supplies for the Micro Lab.
Aid in R&D work as necessary.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
