About The Position

SteelCon Inc. in Houston, TX is searching for a full-time Quality Control Manager - Structural Steel Fitter to bring precision, accountability, and confidence to every project before it hits the shop floor. At SteelCon, your skillset directly impacts the success of every project we take on. You'll work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment where your attention to detail truly matters. This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday position working 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at our Houston, TX facility. In this Quality Control Manager - Structural Steel Fitter role, you begin your day diving into project drawings, carefully reviewing dimensions, materials, and instructions to ensure everything aligns with engineering standards and customer expectations. You identify discrepancies before they become costly problems and collaborate with project managers and design teams to resolve them quickly. You verify bolt quantities, confirm specifications, and ensure every detail is correct before production begins. As you update and finalize drawings, you prepare clear, organized packages for the shop floor-ensuring the team has everything they need to work efficiently. Throughout the day, you maintain detailed records, track revisions, and keep documentation audit-ready, serving as the critical checkpoint that keeps projects running smoothly.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in a coordination or technical role within a fabrication environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and material requirements
  • Familiarity with equipment and facility processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Additional training or certifications in drafting, engineering, or manufacturing processes.
